What Are You Raising For?
I’ll be raising money to make fresh, clean water accessible to those who have been deprived of such a human right.
Why?
Every year we mourn the tragedy that befell Imam al-Hussain (a) and we recall his thirst. It boggles me to know that in this day and age there are people—children most of all—who have been deprived of such a basic human right.
During this holy month of Ramadan, when we submit ourselves to Allah (swt) and abstain from water even when all we wish to do is have a sip, we will remember the thirst of Aba Abdillah (a). And with that remembrance, I hope we can bring fresh water to all households, in the name of the one who died thirsty.
