Abu Al-Fadl’s Story: The quiet dignity of receiving help through illness, loss, and poverty
In a small and humble home, Abu Al-Fadl’s family faces the daily realities of poverty with courage and determination.
His father spends long hours working at a local restaurant, while his mother dedicates herself to caring for their three children with endless love and devotion.
At Al-Rahim Elementary School, Abu Al-Fadl sits in his classroom with quiet focus and hope. Despite living with muscular dystrophy, which makes movement difficult, he remains committed to his education and refuses to give up.
He also carries a deep personal loss. Just one year ago, his brother Abdullah passed away from kidney failure at the same age Abu Al-Fadl is now.
The two brothers once studied together at the same school, sharing dreams for the future before tragedy changed everything.
During this difficult period, The Zahra Trust stepped in to provide meaningful support to the family.
Through its assistance, the educational expenses of Abu Al-Fadl and his siblings have been covered, while the family has also received food baskets, school clothing, medicine, and vital medical care through the Islamic clinic.
Through tears, Abu Al-Fadl’s mother expresses her gratitude:
“We are deeply thankful to everyone who stood by us during our hardship. The donors who helped our family were like angels during the most difficult time of our lives.”
Although this support has brought comfort and stability, the family continues to hope for further assistance to help cover Abu Al-Fadl’s ongoing treatment costs, allowing him the opportunity to improve his health and pursue the dreams he holds close to his heart.
Their journey is one of resilience, faith, and hope, a powerful example of how compassion can transform lives even in the face of tremendous hardship.
