The holy month of Muharram has arrived.

As we recall the tragedies which befell the Ahlulbayt (as), let us not forget the plight of those in need today.

This Muharram, serve the orphans of today in honour of the orphans of Ashura.

What is Muharram?

Muharram, also known as Muharram-ul-Haram, is the first month of the Hijri calendar and thus the beginning of the Islamic year. It is the only month that Allah’s name has been associated with; Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) referred to it as “the Sacred Month of Allah”.

Muharram is also the month that Imam Hussain (as) was martyred in Karbala on the Day of Ashura. Millions of people around the world commemorate this day and remember the events that led to his martyrdom. Imam Hussain (as) and his family sacrificed their lives to stand for what was right and against corruption.

Labbayk Ya Hussain Campaign

Labbayk Ya Hussain is a campaign to answer the call of Imam Hussain (as) and to continue his legacy to serve those in critical need today.

The Labbayk Ya Hussain Campaign focuses on spreading the message of Imam Hussain (as) through the delivery of majalis around the globe, supporting of the visitors to his holy shrine and the service of those who walk to Karbala in honour of the Arbaeen of Imam Hussain (as).

At The Zahra Trust, we put delivery of critical aid and relief at the forefront of our mission. Through the Ya Sakina Orphan Aid, we work to deliver life-changing aid to orphans and vulnerable children around the world.

With Ya Abbas Water Fund, we encourage people to remember the plight of Imam Hussain (as) and his family as well as to consider that 1 in 10 people around the world today do not have access to clean, safe drinking water.
At The Zahra Trust, we work hard to provide sustainable water solutions for communities in need.

The Ya Mahdi Emergency Relief program aims to provide crucial assistance in war-torn countries such as Afghanistan and Yemen. The Zahra Trust’s field teams are prepared to respond swiftly to address the needs of the most vulnerable throughout its areas of operation with life-saving aid. This fund also includes one of our newest projects; building homes in Yemen. More information about Yemen housing can be found here.
